Delete your Cedar account or data
Delete your account in the app
Open Cedar and go to Profile ▸ Delete account, then confirm with Delete my account. The account closes immediately and every signed-in device is signed out.
Or ask us to delete it
If you can't get into the app, email [email protected] from the address the account uses and ask us to delete it. We'll reply once it's done.
Delete individual documents, and keep your account
You don't have to close your account to remove your content. In your Library, open a document's menu, choose Delete… and confirm with Remove. That erases the document, the file behind it, and its reading position from our servers straight away — there is no retention period on a document you delete yourself. Repeat it for as many documents as you like; your account, email address and settings are untouched.
To have your documents removed for you instead, email [email protected] from the address your account uses and tell us what to delete.
What is deleted with the account
Your account and email address, your display name, every document you imported and the files behind them, your reading positions, bookmarks and folders, your voice and playback settings, and your listening history.
What is kept
If you tell us why you left, that comment is kept with nothing linking it back to you. Payment records we're required to retain for tax purposes are held for as long as the law requires. Neither can be used to identify you.
How long it takes
Closing the account takes effect at once. The data behind it is held for 30 days and then permanently erased from our servers — so if you delete the account by mistake, signing in again within those 30 days restores it. After that it is gone and cannot be recovered.
