Common questions

A document won't import. Cedar reads PDFs, EPUBs, article links, and pasted text. Scanned PDFs with no text layer need the camera scan instead, which reads the page with on-device text recognition.

Playback stops when I lock the phone. Cedar plays in the background and shows lock-screen controls. If it stops, check that Cedar isn't restricted in iOS Settings under Background App Refresh.

I want my account deleted. Profile ▸ Delete account removes your documents and listening data. You can also email us and we'll do it for you.

Nothing is loading

Cedar generates speech on our own servers, so it needs a connection. If the app can reach the internet but nothing plays, email us — that's usually on our end and we'd like to know.
